In most cases ESL students learned a long list of grammar rules in a completely explicit way, with a keen conscious command of the grammar and mechanics of their second language. Still, either way, there are a lot of rules to keep track of. The English language is organizationally complex! There are two strategies one can take to knowing the rules and thus being able answer grammar and mechanics questions effectively. One approach is to study and memorize specific grammar rules that are likely to come up in SAT Writing and Language. The other is to think carefully about the wording of each answer choice, intuitively judging which answer choices â€Å"feel† wrong, and which ones seem better or â€Å"best.† Direct study of grammar tends to work best for ESL learners, while intuitive judgements work a little better for native English speakers. However, I’ve seen both ESL students and native speakers use a combination of explicit rule-learning and intuition. As you practice questions in this part of the SAT, you’ll get a feel for which strategies work best for you, and what kinds of questions are most easily answered via each of these two strategies.

Another good example that shows that the authors have suffered in life is in the poem Not my Business the poem is about people being taken away from there homes for whatever reason but Niyi, the author wanted to deny all knowledge until he knows that these things will affect him personally. He was an American Clergyman, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and quite possibly is the most influential leader in all of American history. That man is the great, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Growing up, Dr.King knew his ancestors’ history and how Africans got to America. He knew that African slaves where captured and brought to America by rows and rows of Africans stuffed into slave ships like sardines, Then sold into slavery and sold to the Whiteman. Although this happened centuries before Dr. King’s time oppression still lived strongly in America. The thing that was truly inspiring was the even though young Dr. King knew this, he found a way to look past those times of extreme racism and slavery, to see a brighter future.A future much like today, free of racial segregation and equality for all races. Martin Luther King Jr. was born Atlanta, GA on Jan. 15, 1929. Atlanta was one of the cities that suffered the most racism out of the whole south. From major segregation, to the KKK’s infamous cross burnings and lynchings, Atlanta had it all. The reason for this is because one of the KKK’s main headquarters in Atlanta. Even though Dr. King was surrounded by racism, that never stopped him from pushing forward and dreaming of a better tomorrow.That to me is very admirable alone. Martin Luther King Jr. ’s father was a great influence in his life. Dr. King’s father, Martin Luther King Sr. , was also a civil rights activist and worked with a group of anti-racial leaders in there community. Dr. King used to talk about how influential his father was on his life and political upbringing, and how he used to admire his father greatly for what he did for trying to make their community and lives safer. Around the age of 17 Dr.King decided that he wanted to contribute his life into doing the same thing his father had done before him, Fight the battle of racism†¦ using only methods of peace. That shows me that you can solve some enormous problems using only your mind and peace, instead of weapons and war. In the year of 1995, he was asked to lead a bus boycott in Montgomery, Alabama after a black woman by the name of Rosa Parks, was arrested on account of not giving up her bus seat to a white man and move to the back.The boycott lasted 381 days while Dr. King was leading march after march for liberty and equality. The white community did not let Dr. King do this easily though. Dr. King was terrorized, threatened and put down, in on occasion his house was bombed! But that did not stop King from moving forward and pushing to a brighter future for all. He risked his live and jeopardized the well being of his family to push for equality for all. He was willing to die, in pursuit of equality for all†¦ which he did. In 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. as shot in the chest on the balcony of a motel while on his I Have a Dream speech tour. Even when he was killed he was still working on spreading the word of equality and an anti-racial society for all walks of earth. Not just African-Americans. Nothing could stop Dr. King from pursuing his dream, the American dream, across the country while informing the minds and touching the hearts of the people who heard him speak. That is something that I admire greatly and believe in. That is why I think the most influential figure in my life is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

These cases along with real life experiences helped the students learn key lessons about strategic leadership. In some cases, it was seen that the management failed to take right decisions on time. The failure to take effective steps within time resulted in catastrophes of various sorts. However, some leaders were able to take hold of the situation accurately and thus became effective strategic leaders. It was found that the leaders who were complying with the rules of strategic leadership used some key strategies. These strategies have been summed up in three key lessons of strategic leadership. The three key lessons are: (1) making realistic decisions, (2) becoming flexible, and, (3) keeping long-term goals in mind. Effective Strategic Leadership- Key Lessons The leaders everywhere face a situation in which they lose their cool and tend to take wrong decisions. The following key lessons would help them learn the basic strategies for taking accurate decisions. Key Lesson 1: Making Realistic Decisions Always look for realistic approaches in dealing with the situation you face. Do not follow idealistic assumptions which appear futile in the face of reality. At times, the leaders tend to look for making idealistic changes in the situation. It is good as far as you are in control of the situation. However, you will need to adopt a practical approach which fits the certain situation to tackle it completely. In the case of the launching of Challenger, the spaceship, the managers were aware of the critical situation they were in. Some of them knew that it could blow up in view of the incompatible temperature surrounded by it at that time. However, the decisions were made in haste not realizing the risk the action involved. They were trying to fulfill the people’s expectations and did not take a realistic approach which resulted in the catastrophe. An example of the realistic a pproach can be seen in Madonna’s case who managed her business career successfully. She did not hold idealistic assumptions and switched roles keeping in view the need of the hour. She had put her own interests aside and met the demands of the time in order to reach to the top of her music career. Key Lesson 2: Becoming Flexible Never try to seem rigid in taking important strategic decisions which involve your opponents. Be flexible in your approach to attain your goals. In some cases, the managers are inclined to get angry on their clients’ demands. They have the responsibility to ensure the organization obtains its goals efficiently. They might adopt a rigid approach to respond to the aggressive demands of the other party. However, it might result in the ending of deal which could have successfully accomplished by being flexible. The disaster of the Challenger could be avoided if the management was appreciative of the engineers’ concern about the risk in the l aunching of this spaceship. However, it was overlooked and rigidity was shown in not stopping the launch till the technical problems got sorted out. After the disaster, NASA took immediate action and researched for two long years to stop the probability of such event in future. The case study of Madonna highlights the approach of flexibility in the life of this queen of pop. She had become a saint, an erotic, a rebel and adopted many
